Getting started
I have never done Pilates. Can I do this?
Yes. People of every age and fitness level train with us, women and men alike. Start with a beginner class: a calm pace, plenty of guidance and no more than 6 or 8 people. Your instructor shows you how to set up the reformer for your body. Classic and Advanced come later, when you are ready.
What is the best way to start?
With the 3-class trial block for €50 (€16.67 per class). It is for everyone who is new to Aware, has no expiry date and is valid for reformer classes of all levels in both studios and for mat classes in 1190. You book your three classes yourself, whenever it suits you, and can try out studios, levels and instructors.
Are the classes in German or English?
Both. The schedule shows the language for every class next to the instructor’s name, for example “(English)”. Just check it before you book. In German classes the instructor can’t repeat everything in English, so if your German is limited, the English classes are the right choice.
What is the difference between reformer and mat?
On the reformer, springs and straps give you resistance and support. On the mat you train with your own body weight and add-ons like light weights or a ball. Reformer classes are in 1060 and 1190, mat classes in 1190.
What is Reformer Pilates and how is it different from classic Pilates?
Reformer Pilates is a development of classic Pilates that uses a special machine, the reformer. Springs, ropes and a sliding carriage allow many exercises that build strength and mobility. At Aware we teach dynamic, modern Reformer Pilates.
How big are the groups?
Aware 1060 has a maximum of 6 and Aware 1190 a maximum of 8 people per class, so your instructor can respond to each person.
Prices and memberships
What is the best value if I come regularly?
A membership. With Gold you pay €16.67 per class, with Silver €18.75, instead of €30 for a single class. Unused classes roll over and do not expire as long as your membership is active. If you prefer no subscription, take a class pack: the bigger it is, the less you pay per class.
How long am I tied to a membership, and can I pause it?
Not for long. You choose Flex with a 3-month or Routine with a 6-month minimum term (with Routine, the first month is just €1 until 30 Nov 2026 if it is your first Aware membership). After that it renews monthly and you can cancel with one month’s notice by email to info@awarepilates.at or via Eversports. Holiday or injury? You can pause by arrangement, and unused classes roll over to the next month.
Is there a benefit if I bring a friend?
Yes. With your personal referral code your friend saves €10 on her first purchase, and you get a €15 code after her first visit. You find your code in Eversports on your studio’s profile under “Refer a friend”.
Booking and cancelling
What if I get sick or can’t make it?
Cancel for free in Eversports up to 24 hours before the class and you get the class back. This applies to memberships, class packs and the trial alike. If you cancel later or don’t show up, the class is used. Tip: cancel as early as you can, so someone on the waitlist gets your spot.
Classes are often fully booked. Will I get a spot?
Yes. Look one or two weeks ahead in the schedule, there are usually free spots, and check the other studio too. If your class is full, join the waitlist in Eversports: when a spot opens up, you get a push notification in the app and can book it.
How do I book a class?
First you buy a product, for example the trial block, then you use it to book classes in the schedule. Both happen on Eversports: here on the website, in the Eversports app or on eversports.at. You choose the day, time and studio yourself, nothing is fixed.
What happens if I am late?
Please arrive 15 minutes before the class, so you have time to change and a buffer in case public transport is delayed. The door closes when the class starts. For safety reasons you can’t join later, as it would interrupt the class, and the class counts as used.
At the studio
What do I need to bring?
Non-slip socks (you can also get Aware Grip Socks at the studio) and comfortable workout clothes. There are changing rooms and lockable lockers, but no showers. Spa water is waiting at the bar, and we provide the reformers and everything else.
How do I get to you, and can I park?
Aware 1060 is at Stumpergasse 49, a few minutes’ walk from U3 Zieglergasse and from Westbahnhof (U3, U6). A few steps lead up to the door. Street parking is not guaranteed there, so we recommend public transport; there is a car park about 3 minutes’ walk away. Aware 1190 is at Heiligenstädter Straße 159, about 5 minutes’ walk from U4 Heiligenstadt and 3 minutes from tram D. Heiligenstädter Straße is a shopping street: Monday to Friday 8 am to 6 pm and Saturday 8 am to 12 pm you need a parking ticket and can park for up to 1.5 hours, outside these times parking is free. The Q19 car park a few minutes away is free for a while.
When is the studio open?
There is no reception, the studio is staffed around the classes. The door opens about 20 to 25 minutes before each class. If nobody is there yet, wait a moment, your instructor will be there shortly. There are classes on public holidays and over Christmas too, the schedule shows which ones.
Health
Can I join with an injury or physical complaints?
Please check with your doctor first and only come with their okay. Let your instructor know before the class and they will adapt the exercises. Our classes do not replace medical or physiotherapy treatment.
Are there classes during pregnancy?
Not yet, but pregnancy classes and mommy classes are planned. Follow us on Instagram (@awarepilates) to hear first when they start.
Events and gift cards
Can I give Aware as a gift?
Yes, with a gift card for any amount, online on our gift card page. It never expires, is valid in both studios and can be used for single classes and class packs. To hand it over, there is a card at the studio where you write down the code.
Can I book a class just for my group?
Yes, as a private group class at our 1190 studio: 50 minutes, up to 8 people on the reformer, €140. We agree level, language and reformer or mat with you, and in good weather it can also take place in the garden. Just send us the form on the events page and we will get back to you with an offer within 1 to 2 working days.
How do payment and cancellation work for an event?
There is no deposit. Your date is confirmed once you have paid in advance. You can cancel up to one week before the event and get the amount back. You are welcome to bring sparkling wine and cake; if you stay in the studio after the class, it costs €50 per hour.
How do I redeem a gift card?
Choose a class pack or single class on Eversports, tap “Add voucher” at checkout, enter the code and be sure to click “Apply”. Any remaining balance stays on the gift card for your next purchase. It cannot be used for memberships.
